Writer/Producer/Videographer

Discover Mediaworks is looking for a creative storyteller with 3-5 years of video and/or television producing experience. Extra consideration will be given to those who are capable of delivering all phases of the production process: including concept development, scripting, videography, editing and client interactions. Must have an active interest in the outdoors and outdoor sports (e.g., hiking, camping, backpacking, biking, snowmobiling, etc.)

This position will be based in Madison and will include in-state and occasional regional travel while on productions with some overnight stays. Applicants must have compelling storytelling skills – both in the written script and demonstrated through their work with the camera and in editing. Candidates should be someone who enjoys collaborating with creative team members, can travel extensively on short notice, and be willing to work on a variety of short-form and long-form video projects. While experience is key, an impactful demo reel and video samples of your actual production work along with writing samples are paramount.

All candidates must be able to clearly and creatively convey their project vision in client relationships, while directing and producing in the field, and throughout the postproduction process. Candidates should have professional knowledge and experience producing broadcast quality television, corporate communications, videography, editing, directing talent and production crews, production indoors/outdoors and at remote locations with the ability to creatively solve unforeseen obstacles. This includes proven experience in telling the story through the camera lens using composition and artistic knowledge of capturing imagery and audio.
