The Web Designer is responsible for design and front-end development for Bethesda’s websites. This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving the user experience, functionality and effectiveness of our websites. This position works in partnership with IT to ensure all technology projects are aligned and completed in a manner that follows IT parameters and guidance.

Manage the day-to-day maintenance of all websites, handling the queue of site fixes/changes and track progress until they are successfully completed.

Work closely with the brand team and end users responsible for implementing web site updates and enhancements.

Gather and analyze project business requirements and facilitate meetings as necessary with internal/external partners

Support new web projects and coordinate design/development requirements to ensure successful and timely completion.

Contribute to web team by providing insights and opportunities for improvement.

Solid understanding of the web site production lifecycle.

Ability to understand analytical site traffic data and respond to customers' patterns, trends, and usability needs a plus.

Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Ability to work collaboratively and contribute as a member of a diverse team composed of brand, IT and operations staff.

Expertise in integrating video, audio, and emerging technology into the end user experience a plus.

4 year degree or equivalent

2-5 years experience

Strong HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge and experience.

Wordpress, Joomla, PHP 5.3, and Dreamweaver.

Previous experience with Internet/Intranet architecture and tools, search engines, portals, personalization strategies and content management.

Professional experience with programming methods for website scalability

Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop & Illustrator

Proven expertise across a broad spectrum of Web 2.0 technologies.

Google Analytics experience is a plus

Strong knowledge of developing mobile friendly websites

Experience migrating sites and troubleshooting cross domain issues
