Dunwoody College of Technology is searching for a Visual Content Marketing Strategist to ideate, create, and share the many compelling stories that drive the strategic goals of the College. As an integral part of our marketing department, you will focus on videography, photography, animation, writing, and other forms of digital and print content with an emphasis on reinforcing and promoting the brand platform of the College. You will also support initiatives to grow the college, engage with alumni and friends, and raise the overall positive image of our school. Your role will work closely with other members of the marketing team as well as departments across campus to integrate the College’s brand position, style guidelines, messaging and best practices across the campus. In this position, you will be a crucial voice in editing content for appropriate media outlets with a commitment to tell our stories across multiple platforms to multiple audiences.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Creative/Storytelling

  • Research and create thoughtful, engaging, and compelling stories through the art of photography, videography, and animation. 
  • Communicate our school’s position and brand through online, digital, and social outlets. 
  • Use creative and carefully curated expressions of content to build brand awareness and engagement. 
  • Breathe life into the stories that surround us using a varieties of technologies. 
  • Communicate complicated technical topics in clear, concise ways. 
  • Write and produce versatile content and blend words, video, audio, images, and digital content to tell great stories. 
  • Plan holistically, from idea to execution, to measure impact on our key audiences. 
  • Brainstorm ideas and independently manage projects, including interviewing subjects, writing copy, collecting images/video, producing/editing content, and adapting content across all platforms. 
  • Find ways to convey the emotional impact of technical education and the graduates and donors who make a difference in people’s lives. 
  • Develop a variety of communication materials that build positive relationships with donors, alumni, and other college stakeholders.

Production

  • Concept, direct, shoot, and edit photographs, videos, and animation for publishing on a college-wide scale. 
  • Develop and manage budgets, calendars, and schedules for visual content creation. 
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure content reflects brand guidelines. 
  • Ensure that assets are provided and utilized by designated targets in a timely fashion.
  • Build and maintain a library of images and graphics that can be used across multiple marketing and communications projects. 
  • Organize workload for efficient time management and meet multiple schedule deadlines on time. 
  • Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production. 
  • Support the team throughout the production process, which may include finding interview subjects, creating graphics, and presenting to campus leadership and other constituents. 
  • Write and edit stories and other copy for website, blogs, magazines, e-newlsetters, donor stewardship materials, reports, posters, brochures, mailers, and other commitments. 
  • Conceive, shoot, edit and produce short video pieces (< 4 minutes), typically with quick timelines. Use video editing programs such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro for final production. 
  • Design and/or update print projects as assigned or work with graphic design professionals to create print and electronic projects.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Marketing Team on communication initiatives. 
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with many stakeholders in a professional manner. 
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Copyedit the work of other employees and apply style guidelines and brand conventions to content. 
  • Work with internal customers to define communications goals/needs and develop project plans to reach those goals/fill those needs. 
  • Conduct environmental scanning of higher education marketing and communications efforts and materials for trends and creative approaches 
  • Assist in planning for and provide support at major campus events including Commencement. 
  • Support Dunwoody-hosted events by providing AV assistance when needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, visual/media arts, video, photography, design, marketing or a related field. 
  • 2-4 years of professional photography/videography/animation experience 
  • Firm understanding of marketing and branding concepts 
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills required, including the ability to write to different audiences and for different platforms. 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop 
  • Proficient with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Corel, VideoStudio, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Animate or similar animations programs, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver 
  • Familiarity with DSLR, 360, and GoPro cameras 
  • Experience lighting shots, designing shot layout, and audio capture 
  • Expert knowledge of video conception and development

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with key social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube). 
  • Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS as well as WordPress and/or other CMS/blogging platforms and basic web analytics 
  • Experience with animation and cinemographs is desired 
  • Previous experience in higher education or similar type of nonprofit organization
