The video production specialist will be a powerhouse contributor to Gillespie Productions' content creation process. This role will be comprised of roughly 75 percent editing and 25 percent shooting.

The successful employee will work well both with scripted content, as well as with his/her creativity on less-scripted projects to assemble compelling content. Often, he/she will take a script and raw interviews, b-roll and graphics and put together a high-quality product. Other times, he/she can work with a producer on a conceptual direction on an edit, i.e. an overarching plan and a rough cut of soundbites, and put together a high-quality finished product. This person would also accompany a producer on various client shoots, serving as either a director of photography or b-cam, depending on the project.

The perfect candidate is one with high character, a seasoned skill set and an unending desire to hone his/her craft.

Skills required:

  • 3-5 years experience editing and shooting in a professional video production environment
  • College degree in Film, Video Production or other related field 
  • Highly skilled in Premiere Pro Extensive shooting experience with professional video cameras 
  • Experience in lighting for interviews and b-roll 
  • Proficient with audio - knowing the difference between good/bad audio and how to get the best 

Additional skills desired:

  • A working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Audition 
  • Ability to shoot (or quickly learn to shoot) with cinematic-style cameras (We shoot on Canon C100 Mark II cameras with interchangeable Canon lenses.) 
  • Experience with moving camera support - such as a jib, gimbal and/or slider

Annual salary range: $45,000-$55,000
