AVIA is seeking a marketing leader with brand-building expertise, a creative voice, and the energy to lead a talented, fast-paced team. As VP of Marketing, you would continue the development of our small-but- mighty group by setting a smart strategy, offering creative direction, and bringing executive leadership.

We seek a proven marketing leader to raise our game in several areas: branding, messaging, public relations, digital marketing, etc. You’ll be our creative director, editor-in-chief, and chief storyteller. And since our marketing team is “lean”, you’ll need to jump in and personally execute on projects and deliverables.

In this Chicago-based leadership role, you would manage a team of two marketing directors (plus contractors) who cover all facets of marketing: digital, PR, events, communications, design, content development, etc. Our #1 goal in 2017 is to amplify the AVIA brand so that more industry leaders learn about our model and successes. You would set the strategy, plan the activities, rally your team members, and measure results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design a cross-channel marketing plan that translates business and marketing goals into meaningful deliverables. This includes setting a clear and compelling vision for brand. 
  • Bring a backpack full of new ideas---wacky ones included—that stretch our thinking and challenge us to do more. 
  • Further develop and refine our brand voice. 
  • Act as portfolio manager for a lengthy list of marketing initiatives and projects. 
  • Manage the marketing/PR budget and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors. 
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of intrepid marketers who have a lot on their plates.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • The formula for success: deep healthcare knowledge + broad marketing expertise
  • Brand strategy. Demonstrated success in lauching new brands and repositioning existing ones.
  • Stellar writing skills. We’ll request healthcare industry samples that show your ability to write both creative copy and straightforward, informational copy. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of marketing best practices with examples of campaigns and results. 
  • Project juggling skills. You must have high energy and strong project management skills to keep pace at AVIA. 
  • 10+ years of PR, advertising, and/or marketing experience. 
  • 3+ years of marketing management experience. 
  • Healthcare experience is a MUST. 
  • Strongly preferred: Experience in the provider market. 
  • Bonus points: Experience marketing digital health solutions.
