We're on a mission to make these results a reality for all students across the country.

We’re here to help educators nurture students' critical thinking skills and prepare young minds for college and career. The education space is in the midst of change, with new standards and assessments rolling out across the nation. It's our job to help current and prospective customers make sense of this landscape. As such, we're looking for a local or remote Senior Product UI Designer who can help us translate complex education concepts into our platform for our target audiences: teachers, administrators, students, and parents.

As our first dedicated Product UI designer and a senior member of the design team, you will be responsible for bringing design concepts to life by creating forward-thinking visual designs for our web-based learning platform. You will also develop and maintain a UI system to create consistency and simplicity in the product. You will be the resident expert on all things visual for the team. This position will work collaboratively with our Design Researcher and UX Designers, as well as, the strategy, product, development, and marketing teams to deliver the collective vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating highly usable and forward-thinking visual designs for web and mobile-web (responsive) 
  • Creating a systematic visual design language to create cohesive user experiences 
  • Crafting beautiful icons, controls, and visual elements 
  • Creating and evolving visual treatments that adapt and flow with responsive design systems 
  • Producing standards and style guides for creating interactive, user-centered products 
  • Focusing on consistency and looking for areas of reuse in visual patterns across our platforms 
  • Ensuring all products live up to the highest quality of ThinkCERCA's visual standards 
  • Delivering detailed high fidelity mock-ups with supporting assets for implementation 
  • Revising and updating designs based on user and customer feedback 
  • Contributing to brainstorming sessions, rapid-iteration and sketching 
  • Managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Being flexible and cool under pressure with the ability to shift as priorities pivot

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, product design or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years real-world experience working with cross functional teams 
  • Demonstrated command of visual design principles, especially around typography, iconography, information hierarchy, responsive design and data visualization 
  • Demonstrated experience working within a user-centered design process and transforming user findings in to best-in-class user experiences 
  • Experience designing complex visual systems and data flow representations 
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies 
  • Experience with Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and industry standard design tools 
  • Experience designing for touch and mobile devices 
  • An in-depth understanding of HTML, capabilities of web browsers 
  • Eager to work at a startup that's having an impact in schools throughout America
