Senior Director of Development & Communications

The Wayside House, Inc.

About Us:

Addiction and co-occurring disorders are dangerous chronic diseases. If left untreated they can damage the quality of or end someone's life. The Wayside House started in 1954 in an effort to provide treatment and support for women experiencing these overwhelming and threatening conditions. As a result of our legacy and current operational practices, Wayside was selected as the Minnesota Council on Nonprofits and MAP for Nonprofits Award of Excellence recipient for 2016.

We currently provide an array of treatment and support options that not only address the existing chemical dependency and mental health problems for the women we serve, but also interrupts the transmission of this risk to their children. This multi-generational approach is key to our work and our mission. Wayside is committed to securing the best outcomes possible for the women of our state, their children and their collective futures.

Services Offered: Wayside provides a comprehensive array of behavioral health care and recovery supports to all the women and family members who walk in our doors.

These include: best practice trauma informed and culturally responsive treatment services, financial literacy classes, parenting classes, vocational rehabilitation guidance, GED assistance, securing stable housing, tele-psychiatry, nursing care, peer coaching, and many others. This wrap around model ensures that we address all potential barriers that might interrupt problem free recovery for the woman and her children.
