Join the largest revenue-generating department at United. Our Sales teams work closely with travel agencies, United travel departments and corporate clients.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

This is a communications/graphic design role enabling the sales organization to remain current and contemporary in various sales channels, including Social Media.

Social Media Curator

  • Propose, implement and manage long-term Sales Social Media strategies, in conjunction with stakeholder groups, to substantially create and grow United Sales social presence, further enhance relationships with existing customers and create acquisition opportunities with new customers 
  • Work with internal Sales senior leadership, Marketing, and Corporate Communications to determine current relevant and impactful messages that can be amplified by the Sales organization through Social Media 
  • Work with United's external partners to create “white papers” that can be featured on United Sales social media sites and position United as a thought leader in this space 
  • Create United Sales social media pages where content can be curated 
  • Work with the Sales Training team to educate the Sales organization on how to use Social Media in building relationships with existing customers and expanding our reach to potential new customers

Presentation Design

  • Create and maintain United Sales database of presentation slides 
  • Create and maintain Sales Executive presentations 
  • Work with Sales IT to research, test and implement a presentation slide management software system which catalogs slides and integrates customer data 
  • Work with cross-divisional stakeholders (such as Distribution, Airport Operations, Marketing, MileagePlus, Network, IT, etc.) to identify opportunities for new Sales presentation content and update existing content 
  • Regularly update slide content to ensure field sales always has the latest, most up-to-date content

RFP Database

  • Work cross-departmentally to research and maintain the Sales RFP database. 
  • Update the responses to include United's latest policies and programs 
  • Review new RFPs to ensure that the database is continually updated to reflect the current trends in RFPs

Communications/PR

  • Research, design, write, layout and vet worldwide sales business-to-business communications that are distributed to corporate customers, agency customers and employees
  • Engage with PR and Marketing to develop positive news stories that affect United's position and perceptions in the media and trade press
  • Create print and digital content for trade media purchases
  • Record, edit and deliver compelling internal and external video content

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of a college degree. 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design programs 
  • Experience with video shooting/editing 
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in airlines, sales, social media, marketing, media, or a related field. 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office - most importantly PowerPoint 
  • Extensive knowledge of Social Media platforms 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship 
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification 
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred:

  • 3 years airline or travel agency experience, preferably in sales 
  • Knowledge of Marketing Cloud email software
