Are you looking for a position that’s challenging, has great variety and a high level of responsibility? Are you intrigued by building team relationships around the world? Are you looking for a casual work environment and a fun group of people to work with? Our Production Artist/Design Support Specialist position could be right for you. You will refine, implement and/or extend creative concepts across various touchpoints (packaging, POS, print, digital, etc.). As part of, and under the direction of the creative team, you will work with designers, clients and outside vendors to ensure that the final stages of design projects run smoothly. You will also produce mock-ups and assemble presentations with a high level of craftsmanship and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce final files for packaging, print and digital communications
  • Create extensions from existing packaging templates, following packaging and branding guidelines (includes extensions to different sizes, packaging forms, substrates, etc)
  • Work with clients and vendors to procure necessary information (dielines, legal, copy, etc.)
  • Follow all mechanical art details (printer specs, file formats, prepress needs, and file upload protocol)
  • Retouch and manipulate images in Photoshop
  • Create Epson color proofs and work within printer profiles
  • Produce mock-ups of packages for client presentations
  • Proofread
  • Create presentations
  • Ensure that deliverables are completed in an efficient manner, on time and on budget
  • Maintain website and other interactive materials (training available as needed)
  • Manage assigned projects to meet the needs of both internal and external customers
  • Take direction from the Design & Design Support Manager, as well as other team members from creative and account teams working as a part of, and under the direction of the creative team

  • Ability to juggle shifting priorities and multiple projects simultaneously
  • High level of craftsmanship and accuracy for making mock-ups - Understand printing processes as they relate to final file creation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a “can do” attitude – supportive of the wider team
  • Acts with honesty and integrity at all times
  • Motivated and driven to deliver successful outcomes for both clients and Spark

This is a hybrid position where the candidate must thrive on production tasks, but have a design aesthetic and ability to create extensions/adaptations from existing templates.

  • Graphic Design education with 2+ years of experience
  • Experience in a creative design studio (ad agency, graphic design firm or consumer packaged goods company) or graphic arts environment a plus
  • Mac proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, and capable in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Acrobat.
  • Knowledge in web production programs is a plus
  • Knowledge of print production processes, especially for packaging, is a plus
