Photographer

This is a Project position with an estimated duration of 12-15 months. UW-Milwaukee’s University Relations & Communications division is hiring a photographer to create images, photo slideshows and other visual elements that appeal to prospective students, parents and other influencers. The photographer will shoot and edit photographs, including adding meta data; develop photo concepts for print, digital and social channels, research subjects and schedule photo shoots; contribute to, organize and assist in maintenance of the University Relations image database and catalog; create photo slideshows, banners and other materials for the uwm.edu domain; and gather caption information and write captions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop;
• Demonstrated knowledge of Digital Asset Management software, such as WebDam;
• Demonstrated ability to write photo captions that meet the standards outlined in the AP Stylebook

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in art, photography, communications, marketing or a related area;
• Demonstrated knowledge of Wordpress or similar content management system;
• Demonstrated knowledge of types of images that work well on social media, websites and print platforms;
• Demonstrated ability to produce photographs that support a client’s brand image;
• Demonstrated ability to work well with people at all levels of a complex organization.

$13.11-17.46/hour with generous benefits package
