Outdoor Products Editor

Grand View Outdoors/COLE Publishing, publisher of Bowhunting World, Whitetail Journal, Predator Xtreme and other outdoor-related magazines, is looking for a Product Editor. Grand View Outdoors is the premier publisher for avid outdoor enthusiasts, whose passions center on hunting and fishing.

This position is a full-time opportunity in our Three Lakes, Wisconsin office. Great entry-level position for a motivated self-starter with an eye for detail. Responsibilities:

• Prepare product write-ups for both print and online publishing using AP Style.
• Request product images and photos from manufacturers and prepare for publication.
• Double-check product specifications.
• Communicate with other departments and follow set deadlines.
• Research and interview manufacturers in order to write original and informative marketing/sales/product copy.
• Assist editors and editorial layout team as required.

This job is an entry-level position, and the ability to prioritize and multitask is a must. Previous experience working with outdoor products considered a big plus. Knowledge of AP Style is required. Degree in either English or Journalism is preferred, but relative work experience will be considered in place of 4 year degree. Ideal candidate has a BA in Journalism or English and 1-3 years experience as a copy writer or reporter.

Salary commensurate with experience. Starting salary for qualified candidate to be not less than $30,000. Paid vacation and holidays, 401(k), health insurance and other benefits.
