The Position: Part-time Multimedia Graphic Designer.

The district is seeking a creative problem-solver who can translate our sustainable water vision into vivid images, visual narratives and collective action by sharing our messages across multiple communication channels. We’re looking for someone who can transform written or spoken ideas into compelling layouts and visual campaigns consistent with the district’s brand. Projects will include identity development for new entities, print production, web work, public service multimedia campaigns, annual report project management, collateral development, photography and video support. The position requires a creative, self-motivated team player capable of conceptual thinking, organized execution and deadline performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating the value of our water infrastructure and the district’s work to protect public health and the environment;Identifying visual solutions to complex communication challenges;
  • Supporting and managing a variety of communication and outreach projects;
  • Designing and producing engaging materials including annual reports and budget documents; indoor and outdoor displays; signage; webpages, social media content; e-newsletters; brochures; and other collateral.
  • Establishing and maintaining best practices for design and photography archive management; andMaintaining and updating district brand standards.

We are looking for:

  • Someone who is able to communicate volumes of complicated information concisely, accurately and with a touch of personality;
  • Someone with incredible design skills and aesthetic sensibilities;
  • Someone with the knowledge and experience to take ideas from concept to production;
  • Someone who believes in sustainability and working with people; and
  • Someone who is energized through collaboration and brings innovative ideas to a discussion. 

Candidates must be highly proficient in InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. Additional skill with or willingness to learn Acrobat, Dreamweaver; Premiere; and After Effects is highly desirable.

Wage depends on experience.

This is a part-time position with flexible work hours and the option to work from home at times. Approximately 20 hours a week.
