The Membership & Programs Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Chamber’s programs, events and member outreach. This position supports and reports to the Executive Director and is a key function of chamber operations. Responsibilities include using and expanding upon current systems to onboard new members and retaining current members. The Membership & Programs Coordinator will ensure regular communications with Chamber members. The Coordinator will help the Executive Director organize events related to business growth, networking, and education.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Ensure new and current members receive timely and appropriate communications such as invoices, receipts, welcome letters, renewals, event follow up letters, etc. 
  • Plan and execute the new member orientation and onboarding process. 
  • Learn current systems and be able to maximize the potential of ChamberMaster (the website/member directory/database). 
  • Work with members to help them maximize their Chamber membership. 
  • Work with Executive Director to execute the Membership recruitment strategies. 
  • Work with Executive Director to identify opportunities to improve membership benefits, communications, and programming. 
  • Assist in development and writing of regular communications to members such as newsletters, event calendars, calls to action, and follow-ups. 
  • Assist in executing tasks related to monthly programs and special events, including searching for and securing venues, managing timelines for events. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and other general office tasks as assigned. 
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Interest in and passion for the LGBT Community 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Basic Bookkeeping skills, experience with QuickBooks preferred 
  • Must be willing to adhere to confidentiality requirements 
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizes, and adhere to deadlines 
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality customer service 
  • Previous experience in organizing and managing events 
  • Must have associates/bachelor’s degree

$10-15 an hour, depending on experience

Work 15-20 hours per week, during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with an occasional evening or morning event.
