Are you a media junkie who loves to be in the know? Do you live for pop culture and the latest trends?

Golin, Chicago is seeking a solid senior manager Connector who is able to embrace, understand and live for the connectivity between “traditional” media and social/digital media. Apt at turning data and insights to actionable ideas and results, you see the bigger picture and understand what drives earned conversation and coverage.

You will work primarily on The Bridge, Golin’s relevance engine that leverages proprietary data and insights, develops content at the speed of culture and delivers it to the right people (or person) at the right time. You will lead media and social strategy and execution that keeps our clients relevant with top media and influencers. You’ll build strong media and influencer relationships and always be on the lookout for opportunities that lead to coverage. You’ll transform corporate milestones and data into compelling stories and craft interesting content that goes beyond the press release. You’ll engage with media and influencers across a variety of channels, including social media, email and, yes, even a phone call or two.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a co-lead to the Golin Bridge Team, setting strategy and driving daily actionable results through social content, influencer engagement or outreach, media outreach 
  • Quickly spot opportunities, glean insights and brainstorm action plans driving earned results 
  • Manage, mentor and coach a newsroom-style Connector team for 4-6 junior staff 
  • Develop traditional and social media ideas supporting larger creative ideas 
  • Develop, proofread and edit content and pitches, as needed 
  • Contribute to results reporting and strategy optimizations 
  • Demonstrate a working-knowledge of the client’s traditional and digital (social/influencer/paid) landscape 
  • Develop and deliver client presentations related to Bridge activations. 
  • Initiate and contribute to strategic plans, while crafting and overseeing the execution of Bridge activations 
  • Work well under pressure, remaining calm and professional. 
  • Maintain an intermediate understanding of all digital competencies, including analytics, content creation, community management, website maintenance, influencer engagement and how earned/owned/paid media work together

Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Leading a high-performing team 
  • “Driver” personality with solid client facing skills 
  • Energetic, with a deep knowledge of the Social, Digital and Influencer landscape 
  • Big brand experience a huge plus 
  • Social content strategy and optimization experience 
  • Deep social media marketing background and analytics 
  • 5 -7 years of agency or newsroom experience 
  • Software expertise: Sysomos, Hootsuite, Spredfast, Sprinklr, Radian6, Crimson, Newswhip
