Under the direction and supervision of the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Association’s Marketing Specialist will be responsible for supporting communications and marketing efforts for the Greater Joliet Area YMCA’s four facilities, ensuring accurate and timely communication with members, donors and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Contribute copy that is consistent and articulates the voice and vision of the Association for a variety of marketing materials, including press releases, community announcements, promotional brochures and advertisements.

2. Work with the Digital Communications Manager to implement the Association’s digital engagement initiatives by crafting copy for the Y’s social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, among others.

3. Support the Y’s eMarketing efforts by writing, editing and sending weekly e-mails to members and other stakeholders.

4. Complete daily updates and author original content for the Y’s official website, www.jolietymca.org.

5. Respond to member and community inquiries obtained via online media in a timely manner.

6. Demonstrate strong proofreading skills and an understanding of AP style.

7. Assist with marketing efforts associated with the Y’s special events, as needed.

8. Assist with carrying out marketing campaigns or other marketing-related projects, as needed.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent with 1-2 years of experience preferred. Preferred candidate will have had a previous internship experience.

2. Proficient in standard MS Office software. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and MailChimp, or another email marketing software, a plus.

3. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a variety of projects, work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines.

4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary: $30,000-$35,000
