The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), a national not-for-profit organization representing over 89,000 veterinarians working in private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia, and uniformed services is seeking a Marketing Manager for our Marketing and Communications Division.

Under the general direction of the Division Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing campaigns designed to generate member engagement, increase member satisfaction, generate revenue, and encourage attendance/utilization for AVMA programs and services. This highly visible and critical role involves a blend of tactical and strategic activities, including utilization of market research information and segmentation strategy; metric reporting; and cross-functional partnership throughout the Association. The Marketing Manager will identify innovative ways to communicate benefits and value to targeted audiences, helping the AVMA grow its brand and increase member engagement; and will utilize all channels in the marketing mix to meet marketing program goals.

A qualified candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of professional marketing experience. Association and/or healthcare experience is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus; and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex messages for a variety of audiences are essential. We require working experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, multi-channel marketing, and email marketing. Familiarity with basecamp is preferred. A successful candidate must be highly organized with extreme attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously; and work in a creative, cross-functional team environment. The flexibility to work outside of normal business hours and travel on behalf of the Association is required. Approximately 20% travel.
