Founded by architect and MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang, Studio Gang is an international architecture and urban design practice based in Chicago and New York. The Studio works as a collective of more than 100 people with a design process that foregrounds the relationships between individuals, communities, and environments. A sustainability ethos is central to the practice, coupled with a methodology defined by research and experimentation, including collaborations with a wide range of disciplines both inside and outside the traditional design field. Current projects include the expansion of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City; the new United States Embassy in Brasília, Brazil; a unified campus for the California College of the Arts in San Francisco; mixed-use towers in Toronto, Chicago, and Amsterdam; and the National Building Museum’s 2017 Summer Block Party installation.

Studio Gang is seeking an energetic, full-time Marketing Director to advance the practice’s work around the world. Highly collaborative and resourceful, the Marketing Director will work in concert with the Studio’s leadership and talented team of communicators and designers. Guiding and supporting the Studio’s Marketing Manager, they will direct the pursuit of new projects and the production of proposals, build strong teams of collaborators, and otherwise proactively support Studio leadership toward expanding the Studio’s growing body of work and positive impact.

The Director should have excellent communication, organizational, and graphic skills and a demonstrated capacity to develop tailored, compelling content that leverages the portfolio and sensibility of a leading design firm. Experienced and engaged in the world of architecture and design, they should be enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and contributing their expertise and creativity to a diverse team working in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in marketing within the design profession 
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in architecture, design, marketing, communications, or equivalent 
  • Complete command of the Adobe Creative Suite and other means used to communicate architecture across media formats
