POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for aiding in content development, writing, social media marketing, email marketing, and event planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Write, edit and proofread content using consistent brand messaging for use in print and electronic communications 
  • Develop and execute social media strategy, including messaging and posting, responding to and developing audiences 
  • Oversee and arrange logistics for events and conferences 
  • Assist with the production and distribution of targeted e-blasts 
  • Perform research to support marketing objectives (including industry trends, professional guidance, competitor intelligence) 
  • Maintain and distribute marketing materials for the firm’s Practice Area Leaders 
  • Tracks and reports weekly/monthly metrics for website and social media engagement 
  • Maintains marketing calendar including ad deadlines, conferences, newsletters 
  • Seeks and attains permissions for logos, images, quotes, and other third-party content for use in the firm’s marketing collateral, website, and social media

KEY TASKS:

  • Contribute to the creation/strategic direction of marketing materials 
  • Write, edit, and design content for use on our social media channels, website, and print materials 
  • Event planning coordinating logistics and pre- and post-event follow-up 
  • Produce weekly activity reports regarding marketing tasks, deadlines, and completed tasks 
  • Coordinate recurring and special marketing related mailings 
  • Inventory and order marketing supplies and collateral material to ensure department is well stocked with necessary information packets, mailings, etc. at all times 
  • Maintain library of marketing assets including case studies, photos, and graphics 
  • Provide support and coordination for department’s efforts, including copying, binding, and mailing of marketing materials 
  • Provide support to consultants in advance of speaking engagements and presentations at conferences 
  • Other duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, journalism, communications, or similar discipline 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working within a marketing environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
  • Interest in working with organizations in the non-profit sector 
  • Excellent proofreading skills 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere) 
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media marketing, including aggregation and content curation tools (e.g., HootSuite, HubSpot, etc.) 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making, balance multiple assignments simultaneously 
  • Self-direction, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous, and professional manner in dealing with colleagues and clients 
  • Candidates with experience in higher education or knowledge of fundraising are especially encouraged to apply
