Reponsibilities:

Marketing Associate (shared report with Audience Development Manager), Marketing Intern.

Job Summary:

The Marketing and Research Manager is responsible for overseeing all marketing research for the department, developing and executing marketing plans for Owen Theatre productions and executing events for the Wallace Grant and other initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Direct all research projects for Goodman's Wallace Grant initiative. 
  2. Manage all survey (both quantitative and qualitative) efforts for the marketing department, providing follow up analysis and recommendations based on results. 
  3. Create and execute all aspects of marketing plans for Owen Theatre productions, including managing show budgets and placing media buys. 
  4. Assist the Director of Advertising and Director of Sales with all marketing efforts. 
  5. Optimize single ticket revenue yield and volume for each production, contributing to research projects related to that field. 
  6. Conceptualize, execute and work marketing events. 
  7. Interview, hire and manage the marketing intern. 
  8. Create targeted leads for the telemarketing managers and work with the Director of Sales in maintaining Goodman's Digital Leads system. 
  9. Oversee research, coordination and execution of select marketing direct mail lists. 
  10. Oversee broadcast radio and television promotional elements, working with the Marketing Associate. 
  11. Produce marketing exposure sponsor reports for the development department. 
  12. Set up and track all discounts for the marketing team, providing reports and analysis of discount efforts. 
  13. Provide general department support as needed

Competencies:

Strong Oral and Written Communication, Project Management, Attention to Detail, Management of Others and Self-management; initiative. Tessitura experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. The employee is regularly reviewing and analyzing data on computers and in print media, generally in a stationary position with occasional standing. Occasional attendance at evening events is expected and may require traversing between rooms or groups of people.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

3 – 5 years experience in an arts-related organization, preferably theatre, in marketing.
