POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will play a pivotal role in IFYC’s Marketing & Communications initiatives, helping the organization to engage and inspire our key target audiences in higher education: college and university students, alumni, administrators, and faculty. On a daily basis, the Marketing & Communications Manager coordinates with our various program teams and specialists to devise outreach strategies and tactics, and move these initiatives forward with an eye to great service and well-organized project management. The Marketing & Communications Manager also spearheads IFYC’s efforts to grow our network of partner campuses and connect these campus stakeholders to valuable programmatic opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing and communications strategies and tactical plans to promote IFYC signature programming and related content across the higher education landscape.
  • Maintain ownership of an ongoing year-long strategic marketing plan designed to grow IFYC’s network of constituents and advance other organizational objectives.
  • Project manage a suite of marketing initiatives to advance IFYC’s programs. 
  • Supervise one Marketing & Communications Associate responsible for daily email and social media communications.
  • Support creative development and brand management by helping to craft communications, advertisements, and media experiences that advance the IFYC brand and strategically position the organization.
  • Manage a CRM-based pipeline of marketing prospects with regular personalized outreach to prospective staff, faculty, administrators and student leaders on campuses not currently working with IFYC to cultivate their interest in further partnership with IFYC. Ability to work at the micro level (stewarding relationships through authentic conversation with newcomers to the network) and the macro level (managing systems to track such conversations and their potential).
  • Analyze marketing and communication channels and campaigns on a regular basis to determine efficacy and ROI.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of experience managing multiple marketing and communications projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience in brand marketing, communications, or related disciplines.
  • An expert understanding of fundamental principles of direct marketing.
  • Familiarity with common marketing and communications channels including but not limited to email marketing, online fundraising, social media strategies, data management, website and email analytics, photography and online video.
  • Knowledge of constituent relationship management processes and experience overseeing a pipeline of constituent relationships from initial engagement to deeper partnerships.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in non-profit or higher education institutions strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with major higher education associations, networks, and organizations that serve college and university students, staff, faculty and senior administrators preferred.
  • Familiarity with religious diversity and interfaith cooperation
  • Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Staff supervision/team management experience preferred.

  • Ability to work both independently and in team environments.
  • High degree of professionalism and impeccable interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.

Hours: Occasional but infrequent travel required, as well as occasional but infrequent evening and weekend work.

Supervisor: Reports to Senior Director of Marketing & Communications

Direct Report: Manages one Marketing & Communications Associate
