Job Summary:

Elmhurst College invites applications for a lecturer in Communication with a background in strategic communication, public relations, or similar field. Candidates should have a commitment to creating inclusive learning environments for a diverse student body.

Essential Functions:

Teaching responsibilities include introductory courses such as Introduction to Public Relations, Interpersonal Communication, and Public Speaking as well as upper-level courses such as Event Management and Case Studies in Crisis Communication. Evidence of outstanding teaching or teaching potential is essential. The teaching load is eight courses per year.

As assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A masters in strategic communication, public relations or a closely related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. 
  • Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.

Work Hours:

  • The teaching load is eight courses per year.
