JOB PURPOSE/ROLE:

This position is responsible for writing communications that drive employee engagement in the company. The Communications Specialist will help execute multi-faceted communication plans for a variety of initiatives. They are expected to meet deadlines and provide high-quality written and visual communications. The Communications Specialist also manages and produces key internal communications processes such as publishing to the Intranet and other internal communication channels, managing workflow, developing presentations. This role is part of the Internal Communications team and, as part of the team, is responsible and accountable for various other aspects of internal communications such as assisting with large-scale meetings and managing intranet content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement communication plans – write, edit, develop communications and presentations 
  • Create communication plans for non-complex initiatives, e.g., well-being, community relations, facilities, etc. 
  • Assist in the development of communication activities such as large-scale meetings 
  • Manage internal communications processes such as intranet story development, TV slides, intranet page content 
  • Provide writing support to the internal communications team

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 0-4 years experience required

Education:

  • 3-4 years experience preferred
  • Four-year degree required
