Position Summary:

Azul Seven is a design and innovation consultancy based in Minneapolis, MN. We believe we can improve lives through design-led consultative approach to solving problems. Our goal is to help our clients transform their digital products, services and organizations through human-centered and nature inspired design.

We are hiring an Engagement Lead who is a critical part of our team, working with our principals and design leads to guide the transformative work we do for our clients.

The client engagement practice is crucial to our success as a company and to the success of the work we do for our clients. Engagement Leads are the key liaison with our clients to strategically align Azul Seven’s capabilities with each client’s needs. The work engagement leads accomplish profoundly impact the outcomes of the work we do and our relationships with our clients.

Core responsibilities include developing a knowledge base around our client’s businesses and industries, client stewardship, developing industry POVs and business development.

Essential Functions:

  • Working with the team, pursue new business opportunities within the portfolio of clients 
  • Act as a primary contact and confidant for a portfolio of clients 
  • Provide strategic guidance and align Azul Seven capabilities with client needs to work towards the best outcomes possible 
  • Be an evangelist for Azul Seven’s human-centered design and biomimetic approach

Primary Duties:

  • Expertly manage executive-level relationships across a portfolio of clients 
  • Be able to confidently tell Azul Seven’s story and represent Azul Seven’s range of services to best meet client needs 
  • Identify and seize opportunities to expand client relationships by networking in order to develop business 
  • Lead business develop efforts by strategically framing the opportunity, crafting proposals and the right approach with input from the design team and project management 
  • Communicate client needs, goals and guidance to internal Azul Seven design teams and plan response and objectives with design leads 
  • Oversee budgets and work with project management to prepare financial tracking information for company leaders 
  • Be an Azul Seven ambassador and attend professional networking events 
  • Develop client opportunity roadmaps and planning documents and communicate those to project leads and principals 
  • Manage client expectations throughout each project, clearly communicating status and next steps and guide through scope and strategy changes 
  • Working hand in hand with Azul Seven project managers, track and manage client and project budgets in a proactive manner, communicating scope changes and change orders as needed 
  • Write meeting notes that clearly document communications and outline next steps with client 
  • Review all client deliverables and make sure it is consistent with project objectives 
  • Meet regularly with both the Azul Seven management team and Azul Seven Account group to improve processes and outcomes with our clients 
  • Become a coach for our human-centered design and biomimicry workshops

Skills:

  • Learning mindset to stay abreast with fast changing industries and technology changes 
  • Interest in technology, psychology and design 
  • Experience in service design or digital product design 
  • Understanding of human-centered design methods 
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity and innovation mindset 
  • Great communicator and empathetic approach

Requirements:

  • Five or more years related work experience in strategy, human-centered design, qualitative research, communications or related field. 
  • Willingness to travel 
  • Four-year degree required, emphasis on strategy, business, human-centered design ethnography, communications or related field preferred
