The Digital Marketing Specialist serves as the webmaster for the University website and is responsible for the day-to-day content creation and maintenance needed for various digital platforms including the University website, HTML email and social media outlets. This position generates data analysis, provides digital strategy recommendations and produces content that adheres to the University’s standards and brand guidelines.

  • Write, design and cultivate compelling content that tells the stories of Mount Mary students, alumnae and community crafted for specific audiences and digital media
  • Create video storytelling
  • Strategize and implement strategies to create a user experience that drives conversions through design and content
  • Provide daily maintenance and ongoing development of the University website and social media platforms
  • Manage and develop content of top-level website pages, especially the homepage and department landing pages.
  • Create and execute social media strategy for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.
  • Coordinate and organize complex projects including working with various Mount Mary departments (Enrollment Services, Advancement, Athletics, Women’s Leadership Institute, etc.) and vendors.
  • Monitor user-generated content for appropriateness and consistency
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand their needs and help improve the effectiveness and usability of their content
  • Utilize student workers to assist in social media or web-related tasks
  • Assist in documentation and education of website design standards
  • Create website analytics reports, providing insight on interpreting results
  • Attend weekly staff meetings; provide weekly/monthly report of activities.
  • Attend and participate in program and event planning sessions, budget planning, maintenance of historical records, procedural updates.
  • Provide leadership and training to work study students and student assistants.
  • Manage email requests, flagging tasks and routing requests to appropriate staff
  • Assist in reputation management
  • Assist in crisis management situations
  • Oversee CMS administration
  • Assist with events and activities and/or perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficiency in content management systems and HTML
  • Experience and passion for social media and management
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere
  • Higher education experience preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced online environment
  • Excellent communication skills, organization skills, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Experience communicating with and training highly-technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to train users of all abilities
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and other data reporting software
  • Knowledge of website development best practices including SEO techniques and complying with Section 508 accessibility guidelines
