Kalmbach is seeking an energetic, highly analytical individual to lead the company in designing, executing and evolving CRM target marketing strategies. The Customer Analytics and Database Marketing Manager will be responsible for generating insights from the customer database to inform the Company's customer strategy and business decisions across the organization with the goal of increasing revenues per customer. This individual will design targeting and segmentation strategies of the consumer base which will enable the business to deliver messages that are prioritized, personalized, and simultaneously beneficial to the customer and Kalmbach. This position will be responsible for evolving these strategies to keep up with ever changing business and customer needs; improve effectiveness and efficiency; and drive bottom up data driven recommendations to deliver revenue growth from our consumer base.

JOB DUTIES:

Manages the customer database analytics:

  • Works cross-functionally with leaders to determine opportunities, develop plans and ensures execution of customer database analytical projects to provide relevant insights and recommendations to team members across the organization. 
  • Advises staff, vendors and internal partners to provide actionable database insights that inform customer marketing and communication strategies to deliver efficiencies in spend and increased sales and revenue per customer. 
  • Instructs staff and vendor partners on the development of customer segmentation and value schemes, predictive modeling, and customer level reporting to influence critical business decisions. 

Champions the development and use of the customer database:

  • Responsible for developing and directing all multi-channel customer data capture strategies and programs. 
  • Manages 3rd party customer database and data providers ensuring an accurate "single view of the customer." 
  • Provides input and direction to our Company's data strategy, working closely with Magazine Marketing and eCommerce to increase access to insights generated from the customer database and improve understanding of the customer across the organization. 
  • Be the customer data expert for Kalmbach. 
  • Responsible for Customer Database and Customer Analytics forecast and budget.
  • BS degree in Math, Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, IS or related field. 
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience. Experience in the publishing or media industry also a plus. 
  • Experience in SQL. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Digital marketing experience a plus. 
  • Display an analytical approach to problem solving with proven strengths in analytics and critical thinking. 
  • Be able to collaborate as well as work independently to problem solve. 
  • Demonstrate ability and interest in solving problems never before faced and with no prior examples to reference for guidance.
