This role will manage Filene’s creative content and media strategy to include building a strategic messaging framework, content creation, channel management, earned-media outreach and coordination, and cross-channel distribution and monitoring.

Filene’s Creative Content + Media Manager is a strategic thinker with the communication skills and market-know-how to craft messages and content that will move core audiences to action. This person is passionate about content marketing, understands the importance of brand consistency, is digitally fluent, and enjoys working with the news media.This person will work across Filene's disciplines to identify communication opportunities and execute on campaign strategies to engage, empower, and connect Filene's current and future networks of people to achieve measurable objectives that fulfill Filene's mission while delivering value to stakeholders through Filene’s work. 

Organizational

  • Model Filene values and play a key role in maintaining the culture of the organization through personal and cross-functional accountabilities. 
  • Actively support the achievement of Filene's strategic objectives, plan and metrics in a manner consistent with Filene’s mission, values and brand. 
  • Understand and engage in Filene’s complete body of work including research and impact programs in order to connect member needs with programming that can best meet those needs. 
  • Provide extraordinary service to Filene’s staff, members and stakeholders. 
  • Prioritize and manage workload to aggressive deadlines. 
  • Support organizational-level goals including membership stewardship effort and project management flow of the organization by actively participating. 
Content Development & Managment
  • Direct and manage creation of content and distribution on Filene digital channels; including blog, podcast, brand-owned social media channels and emerging digital platforms. 
  • Ghostwrite, author, storyboard, edit, direct and produce Filene content for video, visual, audio, written and new formats. 
  • Develop creative campaign strategies and manage execution to meet Filene team /corporate objectives and strategies. 
  • Align and coordinate content creation for use in email/content marketing campaign efforts. 
  • Develop social media strategies and manage execution of plan to meet Filene objectives. 
  • Manage media relationships, exposure, opportunities, releases and requests. 
  • Monitor media exposure, social and digital media consumption and engagement. 
  • Analyze metrics for continued iteration and improvement on the effective dissemination of Filene messages and content. 
  • Research emerging digital platforms, digital messaging techniques, tools, equipment and trends and provide direction and recommendation for advancing Filene’s digital presences in alignment with corporate vision and strategy. 
  • Present, educate, train industry on expertise and best practices in content/digital marketing field 
  • Manage programs and deliver advisory services to credit union clients in areas of social media strategy, brand ambassador strategy, content creation and planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field required 
  • 5+ years of branding, communications and writing experience required 
  • 3+ years of experience in digital media. 
  • Knowledge of financial services industry preferred. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that contribute to overall organizational performance and a positive, creative work environment 
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in entrepreneurial environments 
  • Intellectually curious about credit unions and their members. Enjoy working in a “think tank” environment where ideation, continually embracing change, being restless with the status quo and seeking reinvention is part of the culture. A passion for purpose and precision – including the details. 
  • Willing to be empowered and held accountable for results. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once 
  • The ability to work with people from many disciplines and backgrounds to foster a shared sense of ownership and produce better work 
  • Up to 10% travel required, including attending various conferences, meetings, colloquiums, and other events
