Overview:

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for helping to develop and drive internal, external and executive communication strategies for Patterson Companies. They support the effort to create and implementing corporate communications that positively describes and promotes the organization and its core values, services and people. This position is a key partner to corporate leadership and other internal customers by advising on communications that connect with people and incorporate the company vision and voice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of annual comprehensive corporate communication plans and editorial calendars. 
  • Author press releases, web articles, and other communications. 
  • Support social media activities for company. 
  • Assist in developing and coordinate writing and communications processes for company. 
  • Understand the key trade and business media covering the healthcare market to gain visibility for our brand and optimize our reputation. 
  • Monitor competitors and industry trends. 
  • Maintain relevance by monitoring media and content trends in print and digital channels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations or journalism. 
  • 3-4 years public relations and/or corporate communications experience. 
  • Proven leadership role in developing executive communications, corporate newsletters, press releases and employee benefits packages. 
  • Must be a strategic, innovative and creative thinker. 
  • Experience identifying and building relationships with key industry trade press. 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interviewing and reporting. 
  • Accomplished editor and proofreader.
