Corporate Communications & Marketing Intern

This is a part time (15-20 hours), entry level position designed to help an individual learn and gain more experience in the field as well as providing useful contributions to the company. This will be achieved by assisting in the day-to-day activities of the marketing department as well as completing special projects. Flexible scheduling to accommodate a school schedule is available.

This role is designed to have 3 specific but different objectives that will help the candidate experience different elements of the marketing function and has specific outcomes that are expected to be executed at a professional level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

1. Corporate Communications

  • Build new employee orientation tools to provide initial training and ongoing support of Metal-Era's culture, products, and processes (e.g. presentations, tutorials, videos, etc.)
  • Create communicaation platform to more effectively communicate important annouocements to the manufacturing floor and office emloyees (e.g. Insurance roll out, Employee announcements, Company Performance, BBQs, etc.)

2. Sample/Literature Fulfillment

  • Fulfill requests for product samples, marketing literature and promotional items as needed
  • Define min/max levels for each of the items
  • Implement a replenishment processes to reorder as inventory is depleted
  • Maintain a value for the held inventory
  • Assist with identifying and setting up 3rd party vendor processes

3. Customer Trade Event(s)

  • Work with Sales to determine expectations and required marketing collateral
  • Effectively coordinate marketing materials, displays, demos/samples, and booth participation for day of event
  • Execute pre-event campaign and post event follow up

  • Either completed or pursuing a degree from a two or four year institution with an emphasis in communication, marketing, advertising, business or a related field.
  • Good verbal, written and editing skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Naturally inquisitive and analytical.
  • Excellent creative ability in both problem solving and design
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to take the initiative and work both as a team and independently.

$12.00/hour without any benefits.
