We are seeking a Communication Coordinator to join our Corporate Communication team. This position can be based in our Montreal, Qc, Sherbrooke, Qc, Chicago, Illinois or Markham, Ontario office and works with a team across North America.

The communication coordinator reports directly to the Corporate Communications Director and plays an important role in generating and disseminating messages and stories for a variety of internal and external platforms that align with EXP’s business, marketing and communications strategies. We are looking for a coordinator who can develop dynamic content, as a storyteller, for the company’s website, intranet sites, publications, press releases and promotional materials.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Create content and deliver messages internally and externally to align with EXP’s business, marketing and communications strategies 
  • Is responsible for creating the bi-weekly newsletter and publishing content on the intranet site and updating it. 
  • Edit copy written by others by revising, rewriting and reorganizing for clarity, comprehension, use of language, consistency and effectiveness. 
  • Coordinate webinars sessions, town hall presentations and other company-wide training and presentation campaigns. 
  • Create and coordinate surveys from corporate communications and marketing, using Survey Monkey. Provide analysis and reporting on these surveys. 
  • Collate and organize interview opportunities and stories to targeted media outlets or journalists. Prepare and draft a range of media releases and Q&As for media publication. Monitor media systems and distribute the weekly media report to the management team. 
  • Participate in editorial meetings, suggest topics and stories and help maintain the editorial calendar in collaboration with regional marketing teams. 
  • Participates in execution of integrated digital campaign strategies and measure effectiveness, in collaboration with corporate communications team and regional marketing teams. 
  • Develop strong working partnerships with key members of regional business sectors; regional marketing, communications, and PR professionals, to support the implementation of the strategic plan. 
  • Provide various copywriting/editing support as needed.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field. 
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in communications in AEC industry-related topics. 
  • Demonstrated mastery of English grammar, including spelling and punctuation, and an editor’s eye for errors. 
  • Creative thinking with strong story-telling and writing skills showing versatility in styles including journalistic, promotional and executive communication. 
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms; PR and digital content engagement strategies. 
  • Proficient with the Office suite, knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud & Poppulo (Newsweaver). 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of email campaigns, Sharepoint 2013, online content management systems (social media & web).
  • Demonstrate precision and thoroughness at work. 
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-intensive environment.
