The Associate Product Manager, with support from the Product Manager, is responsible for the development, growth and profitability of the company’s product portfolio. Leads or supports the cross functional team through the NPD process to build a profitable product portfolio that aligns with key consumer needs and the company’s product strategies.

Functional Interactions: New Product Development team including Marketing, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing & China team, Brand Marketing, Sales, Finance. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Strategy development & execution
  • Category management
  • Category profitability
  • Consumer insights
  • Trend and retail insights
  • Project management

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Category Management
  • Develops & maintains product strategies for assigned product segments
  • Manages product lifecycles for assigned brand segments
  • Manages SKU rationalization & product obsolescence
  • Analyzes POS, sales and margin data against budgets; develops strategies and contingencies to ensure objectives are met/exceeded
  • Supports evaluation of competitive environment With support of manager, evaluates assigned product segment P&L to ensure all budget objectives are met/exceeded
  • Consumer Insights Reviews and applies existing consumer research to assigned product segments Innovation,
  • NPD & Project Management
  • Utilizes consumer/competitive/customer research to identify key development projects for assigned product segments
  • Utilizes Stage Gate process to ensure superior execution of NPD projects
  • Leads product commercialization for assigned product segments ensuring flawless execution
  • Understands & incorporates environmental, legal, regulatory regulations into NPD projects
  • Manage projects at or below project budget
  • Other Participation as needed in customer meetings and trade shows
  • Domestic and International travel as required (15-20%)

Education / Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Marketing required
  • 1-3 years of consumer marketing/product management experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Quantitative, analytical skill set
  • General understanding of cross-functional team product development process
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to complete assignments as given with supervision

Compensation:

  • Salary range of $58,00o-65,000
  • 10% annual incentive bonus
