Candidates must have a B.A. in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field. The best candidates will also have internship experience with a public relations agency, news station/show or media publication.
The best candidates will also understand what editors and producers want to see and hear when they are creating a story. You must be able to write clearly and be comfortable pitching clients both in-person and over the phone. You must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate, implement, and complete projects without hand-holding. You must thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple, conflicting deadlines and expectations. You must deliver work on or before deadline. You must be a communicative team player and someone who’s willing to ask questions when needed in order to solve unsolvable problems on a daily basis.
