Position Overview:

Responsible for developing and implementing strategic, creative and results-oriented national PR programs that use traditional and digital media channels to support JLL’s leadership position and growth priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement impactful and creative PR strategies that align with the business growth and overall marketing and communications strategy for the firm’s Corporate Solutions business. These business lines include Integrated Facility Management, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Energy and Sustainability. 
  • Showcase strong B2B content development capabilities including independent researching, writing, editing, and/or outsourcing of written company assets. Be informed about industry trends, pending new business wins and closed transactions that can be used to garner publicity. 
  • Effectively extend content into new business channels by proactively sharing content with marketing and internal communications teams to maximize content and fully distribute at the point of sale. 
  • Establish strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external agencies to provide effective PR counsel and ensure that PR efforts are integrated with marketing, communications, digital and research programs. 
  • Augment PR effort through coordination of external resources as needed (e.g. freelance writers, media support, public relations agencies, consultants). 
  • Effectively manage budgets associated with programs. 
  • Utilize digital and traditional channels to support and achieve PR goals and support business objectives. 
  • Manage media relations by writing and managing approval and distribution of releases, pitching story ideas both verbally and in writing, and facilitating and preparing for media spokesperson interviews. Develop strong media contacts to generate high-quality and in-depth coverage of JLL, the trends we lead and support, our market expertise and thought leadership, and the real estate transactions we win, manage and complete 
  • Leverage digital and social media channels (including Twitter, LinkedIn, website, video) to engage clients and reporters beyond traditional publications. 
  • Arrange speaker opportunities with key real estate industry or business organizations. 
  • Write bylined articles in partnership with business experts. 
  • Identify and secure awards and recognition that can elevate JLL’s profile. 
  • Distribute news releases, monitor activity and report results through PR Newswire and Meltwater media management tool. 
  • Ensure that all PR strategies and messages protect the firm’s reputation and are consistent with JLL’s branding initiatives, marketing messages and media policy. Recognize, elevate and manage crisis issues effectively.

Skills Needed:

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience, with emphasis on B2B media relations, content production and social media expertise 
  • Advanced plan writing and implementation expertise 
  • Strong emphasis on outcome-based measurement and PR evaluation skills 
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills 
  • Effective in partnering with, advising and reporting to management and team members 
  • Creative thinking and drive toward innovation 
  • Media pitching and presentation skills 
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills with results orientation 
  • Social media expertise: governance, planning, execution and measurement 
  • Strong understanding of brand journalism and content production trends and writing style 
  • Self-starter, assertive and proactive yet a strong team player 
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent organizational skills; unyielding attention to detail 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media and media database tools
