Sojourner Family Peace Center (SFPC), Wisconsin’s largest nonprofit provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services is seeking an experienced and driven Professional to join our team of dynamic employees as a Communications Manager. The Communications Manager will manage production and design of all internal publications, collateral pieces and electronic communication and direct SFPC’s marketing, communication and media strategies.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Leading Sojourner’s marketing, communication, and media strategies
  • Conceptualizing and designing projects as assigned including print, signage and digital marketing needs
  • Managing project workflow from initial design through production with timelines and budgets
  • Working with outside suppliers acquiring competitive bids for print.
  • Creating and producing spring, summer and fall newsletters, monthly e-newsletters, gratitude report and other marketing and communication pieces
  • Designing graphics for published, printed or electronic media
  • Serving as media contact; draft and distribute all press releases and form strong relationships with local print, radio, and television media

  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all organization publications including but not limited to talking points, presentations, blog posts, speeches etc.
  • Developing and implementing Sojourner’s social media strategy and serve as online spokesperson within social media channels
  • Maintains accuracy and timeliness of website through content updates and maintenance procedures and look for opportunities for enhancement

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Management or related field. 
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Be a self-starter, able to work independently, be organized and deadline-driven. 
  • Be passionate and in tune with the latest social media developments, online behaviors, and trends. 
  • Have a proven ability to execute appropriate social media programs. 
  • Proficient in using a Mac operating system and expertise using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office (mainly PowerPoint and Word) and necessary social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Hootsuite, and Snapchat). 
  • Be experienced in working with website management systems, such as Wordpress. 
  • Possess video production skills and understanding of Windows Movie Maker, InstaVideo or other video tools. 
  • Have the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Possess a broad network/knowledge of Milwaukee media. 
  • Reliable Insured vehicle and valid driver’s license
