Dates: September 6, 2017 – December 15, 2017

Hours: 10-12 hours per week

Supervisor: Mackenzie Sanger, Senior Program Manager (414) 271-1470

Intern Site: 10425 W North Avenue #340 Wauwatosa, WI 53226

Duties: This internship will focus on the 2017-2018 Best Buddies Programs which may include, but is not limited to, School Friendship, Adult Friendship, Leadership Development, and Jobs. 

 

Communication: Execute mass communication (participants, parents, supporters, staff, community advocates, and board members) through a variety of channels. Develop interpersonal skills needed to successfully manage a nonprofit organization

Donation/Sponsorship: Work with corporate partners/supporters to secure donations of resources, space, and funds as needed. Manage donor information and communication

Logistics: Understand the organizational culture of a nonprofit organization including grants/funding, volunteer management, donations/sponsorships, administration, database management, and events. Develop knowledge of the disability community, disability rights movements, etc.

Programs: Support programmatic initiatives/events

  • Communication and problem solving skills

Valuable non-profit experience including fundraising, donor relations, event planning, research and development; credit hours (if applicable). Please note – there is no financial stipend for this internship.
