Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support creation and maintenance of compelling marketing materials for the healthcare industry 
  • Collaborate with product management and others to ensure effective communication of how Spok solutions are beneficial to various roles within the healthcare segment (C-level, clinical, etc.). 
  • Create clear, compelling content such as web text, promotional email copy, product brochures/datasheets, white papers, case studies, blog posts, corporate materials, customer communications, byline articles, news releases, etc. 
  • Assist in the creation of visually appealing, concise PowerPoint presentations. A strong command of PowerPoint is important as is the ability to work with a design resource to effectively convey complex healthcare concepts. 
  • Support other team members with copyediting for pieces they’ve created. 
  • Work with internal and external design resources to finalize pieces in the proper format and in accordance with Spok’s brand guidelines. 
  • Determine communication strategy and deliverables for Spok’s tradeshow and speaking engagement lineup by working with marketing, sales and the clinical team. Manage the creation and production of resources needed (web landing pages, booth designs, printed cards, talking points, tailored emails, printed collateral, and news releases, etc.). Manage the process for speaking engagements, including researching available opportunities and coordinating all aspects of creating and finalizing the speaker’s title, abstract, and presentation. Coordinate with product marketing and sales as needed to determine and refine messaging. 
  • Drive creation and production of the monthly healthcare customer newsletter. This includes working with others in the company to draft articles on newsworthy topics, refining the copy, routing internally for review, working with design resources for layout, and monitoring statistics on how well the newsletter performs with our audiences. 
  • Develop materials for Spok’s customer conference, Connect. This three-day event requires full marketing coordination for the printed brochure, app, session descriptions, presentations, and more. The marcom manager will be responsible for assisting with the creation of many of these materials, as well as attending and supporting the event itself. 
  • Be an active member of Spok’s high-performing, highly collaborative marketing team. This means continually looking for new ways to do our jobs better, improve our materials, and support the sales team in their efforts. 
  • Travel requirements are minimal but may include attending the annual Sales/Marketing conference, annual customer conference, relevant training, and possibly customer visits for videos or case studies.

Requirements:

  • Writer in charge of developing numerous types of marketing content. 
  • Excellent skills when it comes to collaborating with others and refining projects so that they are well-written, on-message, delivered on time, and consistent with Spok’s style guidelines and AP style. 
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills are essential as is the ability to take constructive criticism as projects move through the review process and need to be refined. 
  • Go-getter with excellent project management skills and the ability to be proactive and push projects through the pipeline even when obstacles arise. 
  • Healthcare industry experience is REQUIRED.
