The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) is a non-profit organization funded entirely by Wisconsin's dairy farm families. Our goal is to increase the sale and consumption of Wisconsin milk and dairy products.

WMMB is farmer-owned and farmer-directed. Our 25 dairy farmer board members are elected by their peers for three-year terms. WMMB’s farmer-directors have direct involvement in planning and monitoring the organization’s marketing and promotional programs which are conducted by a staff of marketing, research and communications professionals.

This person will develop and implement social & digital marketing strategies for all WMMB brands to grow brand awareness, generate inbound web and social traffic, and build share of voice and purchase intent for Wisconsin Cheese. He/she will report to the Vice President – National Product Communications and support a variety of internal and external customers. Duties include writing copy, managing all social media activities and measuring digital marketing effectiveness.

Devise strategies to drive online traffic to the company website, engage fans on social media, and develop and manage digital marketing campaigns and content calendar.

Support a variety of internal and external customers; deliver content and support/amplify messaging as appropriate (cheese companies, stores, brands, etc.).

Utilize a range of techniques for digital marketing, including paid search, search engine optimization (SEO) and pay per click (PPC).

Track conversion rates and suggest improvements to the website. Use social media monitoring and measurement tools to gain insights and maximize results.

Write effective copy in a variety of styles for websites, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Develop content for online and offline newsletters and other publications.

Maintain understanding of what is happening in social and digital media, what competitors are doing and what new measurement tools are being used. Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital and social marketing.

Determine how to best communicate WMMB’s message across different platforms and understand best way to deal with detractors or handle sensitive dairy industry issues.

Create and manage a digital strategy that aligns with WMMB activities and objectives.

Communicate and work with bloggers via social media for materials and requests. Identify and review blogger contacts to work on promotions and communication and manage WMMB blog content.

Assist with public relations activities, attend a variety of consumer and trade events, and participate in other projects and activities as determined by the Vice President, National Product Communications

A qualified candidate will have professional, well-developed oral and written communications to deal effectively with a wide range of media and industry target audiences. The successful candidate must be well acquainted with social media strategies and tools, online behavior and trends, and have strong understanding of existing and emerging social media platforms and tools.

A strong working knowledge of print and electronic food trade and consumer media and how they work is required. The candidate must be willing to travel nationally to represent WMMB with media and at trade shows and events. A bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience in public relations and/or food journalism is required. Recipe development and photography skills are a bonus.

This position will be located in Madison, Wisconsin. Compensation consists of a competitive salary and benefits package that includes a companyfunded 401(k) plan.
