The Division of Recreational Sports is looking for highly innovative, passionate, motivated, energetic, and team-oriented people who will work hard to inspire campus to play hard, get fit, and live well. We aim to not only be on the cutting-edge of recreational trends, but to be out in front, setting the standards. In March 2014, our division passed a $236-million referendum to construct new facilities. All of our staff are involved in the design and construction of two new recreation centers and two new outdoor turf playfields. This is an exciting time to be part of Rec Sports at UW-Madison, and we are excited to continue moving forward.
Besides our amazing, innovative, fun-loving staff, there are many other reasons to consider joining our team. We value the whole college experience and believe that recreation plays an integral role in the current and future success of our campus. We trust our team’s experiences and education, and encourage employees to pursue new ideas and implement new programs. New team members have the opportunity to make a difference starting their first day on the job.
Overall, we are committed to the professional development of our employees and hope to provide a meaningful experience to our students as well as our professional staff. We lead based on strengths and will provide opportunities for professional development, including SXSW, NIRSA, and other conferences related to the employee's professional goals.
The Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Recreational Sports will gain valuable experience in content development, branding and communication strategies, project management, and student supervision. This intern will play an integral role as part of the Rec Sports team, developing high-level materials for potential donors and corporate sponsors and leading a group of talented students in design, photography, and videography.
