C2's client, a global media and direct marketing company, wants to find the right fit for its Senior Information Architecture/User Experience position. This position is a key senior member of a growing digital team, working closely with the department’s product and technology groups. This person will guide the user experience and information architecture on the company’s multiple consumer-facing websites and other digital products (emails, apps) as needed, providing solutions that enable the sites to meet their quantifiable performance goals. He/she will shepherd brand-new site features as well as revamp under-performing existing features. 

The client values candidates with a strong technical knowledge and clear understanding of development workflow. A high-level sensitivity for design considerations is key, but leadership and direction of the team based on best technical practices and previous hands-on experiences are critical to the success of this position.

Duration: Full-time Permanent

Location: Downtown Milwaukee

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create sketches, annotated wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and final visual assets that illustrate site layout, navigation, controls, and content prioritization, documented and ready for handoff to the development team for implementation.
  • Collaborate with product owners, content producers and other visual designers to guide each UX project from ideation to final delivery
  • Direct A/B and other usability testing
  • Work with advertising, marketing and editorial stakeholders to clarify goals and solidify deliverables as needed
  • Lead any internal design reviews
  • Partner with analytics team to monitor the performance of site features and functionalities, and spearhead data-driven UX improvements
  • Introduce or modify typography, color palettes, and iconography in ways that respect the brands’ traditions while allowing them to stretch in new directions
  • Work with the brands’ print art departments to establish guidelines (both technical and style) for photography and other visual elements

 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years in professional UX digital design, with 2+ years of significant work on ad-supported consumer websites
  • Fluent with responsive, multi-platform design, with a firm understanding of the uses and limitations of HTML, CSS (Sass) and JavaScript
  • Facility with standard design tools such as Adobe CC Suite and Sketch
  • Experience guiding consumer usability tests (e.g., A/B splits)
  • Keen sense of visual craftsmanship and typography
  • Very comfortable with website KPIs and data-driven decision-making
  • A passion for interactive design and a belief that effective design is about the whole experience, not just the graphical presentation, with a commitment to staying current with digital UX trends and best practices.
  • Top-notch communication skills (written and verbal)
  • An enthusiastic team player, flexible and collaborative

 

Salary: $80-$85/yearplus benefits - negotiable based on skills and qualifications - the more technically driven, the better.
